This month our DPP Employee Spotlight shines on Tracey Worthey, one of our senior technical recruiters.

Tracey, how long have you been with DPP?

Tracey Worthey at the U.S. Open

Ten years in September; I started at DPP the week after my 10th anniversary. Guess how many years I have been married on August 27th?

What do you like best about being a technical recruiter?

The opportunity to change people’s lives.  Listening and learning about people and their career expectations.  My husband rolls his eyes when I meet a new person and the first question I ask is, “Where do you work?”

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

In high school, I worked at a movie theater.  We had awesome perks: free movies, popcorn and sodas!

What’s your favorite sport or pastime?

Tennis is my passion.  I have been playing on a USTA tennis team with the same group of talented, crazy, fun, loving ladies for over 15 years.  I was the captain for the first 10 years and we made it to the state playoffs 8 out of 10 years.  For those of you who have captained any team in the past will appreciate that stat.  Wink!  Oh and I forgot to say: GO Gamecocks! I love watching USC  sports!

What was the best vacation you ever had?

I love to travel so I don’t have just one.  Some of my favorites are: honeymoon to Jamaica, US Open Tennis tourney in NY, cruising the Mediterranean with my Grandmother (loved Rome), taking my niece and nephews skiing for the first time in Boone, NC, and a family trip to California and Hawaii.  Maui is the most beautiful place on earth.

What’s one food you wish had zero calories?

What was the last book you read, and what did you read it on?

I read the paperback, Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness, by Susannah Cahalan.    I still like the feel of a book and you don’t have worry about a little water getting on it while reading near the beach or pool.

What words of wisdom do you try to live by?

Honor Your Commitments.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Anywhere on the coast of South Carolina.

Thanks, Tracey! And congratulations on your anniversary — both of them!
